Overview & Highlights
An epic, must do gravel ride if you are in Chelan, WA. The views on this one are second to none on a bright sunny day. Huge mountains and hills disappearing off into the horizon. Although not for the weak hearted. This ride has a lot of rough, chunky roads that make progress slow at times and your hands feel like something that’s clogging the toilet. Also no water on this one, so keep that in mind. It feels like the majority of this ride is climbing for some reason, although, definitely worth it.

Notes & Hazards
With all the climbing early on this ride, it make you feel like you are behind pace. Like mentioned above, no water on this one. The roads are very rough and slow at times. Big tires will be very helpful. There were closed gates at about 40 miles and 42 miles when I did ride. But the road was fine and I went through quickly with no issues. Temps were cooler towards the top of the ride. There is a good amount of pavement on this one.

Ride looks great, a few questions:
What time of year did you do this ride? Trying to determine if snow will be an issue in early June this year.
Is the route passible by a car/suv? Thinking about water/snacks out there and was wondering how feasible driving out and leaving a stash might be beforehand. Also considering a water filter if you think there are some good water sources?
Thanks!
Hey Ben, sorry for the late response! That was at the end of July. As far as snow for next year, it depends on the snowfall over the winter. There might be some early June, but I don’t think it would be too significant. When I rode the route, there was a closed gate, at I think just one point, at around mile 40 (about a mile in off Highway 971). I think you could stash some water/snacks if you drove in from the Snowberry Bowl Campground side, then turned around at the top. And I didn’t see any water sources up there. I don’t think there are any. Hope you enjoy the ride if you do it! It’s a pretty tough one!
